Project #5- Broadcasting project
Students gather information from various sources for the news broadcast including:
1) Headline News
2) Weather for the week of April 28- May 2
3) Local News- State or Local
4) School News- Teachers / administrators / students / club sponsors - upcoming events
Students should prepare copy, edit, type and run on the teleprompter for the anchors.
Your newscast should last 8-10 minutes.
- One person will be the news anchor
- One person will be the weatherperson
- One person will give the local news
- The school news should include an interview
- You should include at least one sound bite
- Each person should have an introduction and a sign off to the next person
For example: "Thanks for that story on whale watching, Jane. In today's weather..."
"And now to our local report from Sam..."
Each person will need to write your reports on WORD and have them checked by Mrs. Rosin. Work together in your group to connect the stories.
Remember to include:
-5 Ws and H
-Good lead to the story
-Quotation
You will use http://www.easyprompter.com/ to help create the newscast text. The anchor will have to read using the prompter during the telecast.
