PROJECT #1- CREATE POSTERS FOR WMS
Rubric for poster project
Examples of Poster Projects
We have looked at billboards and posters and learned about the best way to capture an audience. It is your turn as a group to design memorable posters for Williamston Middle School.
Using different methods, create a poster describing the school rules:
-Be Safe
-Be Engaged
-Be Responsible
-Be Respectful
Here are the different methods you can use to create a poster. You must use at least 3 DIFFERENT METHODS!:
-Microsoft Powerpoint- directions here
-Microsoft Word
-Drawing with pencil/posterboard/markers- helpful hints here
-Pixlr- directions here
When looking for pictures from the internet, be sure to use pictures that are free to the public. Here are some good websites to find them:

When you are designing your posters, try to come up with a unifying theme. In other words, if I looked at all four posters, could I tell that they were from the same group?
Follow these steps to help you stay organized:
Step 1:
Decide who will work on each poster. Will each of you have a different poster or will you work altogether?
Step 2:
Decide which tools you will use for each poster. Pixlr, Word, Powerpoint or Drawing. Remember you must use 3 out of the 4 methods.
Step 3:
Decide which word will be made with each tool. (Responsible=Pixlr or Respect=Drawing)
Step 4:
Decide what text you will have in each poster. You can add text, but remember you don't want too much!
Step 5:
Decide what will make the posters look alike. Is it a picture, a font, colors?
Step 6:
Design a rough draft if you are going to draw. Be sure you have an idea before you start drawing.
Step 7:
Divide and conquer on your posters or work together.
You will have all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to collaborate, begin and finalize your four posters. Posters should be emailed to Mrs. Rosin at [email protected] or handed in by the end of class Wednesday.
